The PAQ-60 and PAQ-60XL designs differ mainly in the lengths of their transmission lines and tuning frequencies of their passive radiators. Their drivers are capable of about twice the excursion and triple the power handling of leading pro-audio drivers. The drivers and passive radiators simultaneously approach their max linear excursions, with the passive radiators’ contributing nearly quadruple the air volume displacement of the drivers. The transmission line aligns and combines the wavefronts of the drivers and passive radiators, and increases output. The PAQ-60 exhibits flat response in its operating range, but is exceptionally adept at handling high boost at 20Hz.
